People think art is easy
People think art is easy, they think if they see you in action that it doesn’t take much effort, ignorant of the fact that you had to draw for hours, days, years to get to the point where it looks easy, much like a professional athlete or dancer. And sometimes art or craft can look simple, but it’s a combination of scale, colour and design that makes it work. Sure you might be able to copy something, it’s coming up with the concept in the first place, and abstraction is the most difficult of art styles, saying the most with less, haiku instead of prose.

Someone wants to use my artwork for a full body tattoo! RED DRAGON by KARADIN
This image was created to commemorate the news that Benedict Cumberbatch will play the dragon Smaug in Peter Jackson’s film of The Hobbit. I’m a huge fan of the book from childhood, a fan of Benedict and of Japanese culture, including tattoos done in the traditional style. Today someone sent me this note:
I love this (dragon) tattoo so much. I think this would look great on me. Would you mind if I get this on my back?
