Right now Metatron is the only angel left
Michael and Lucifer are either dead or trapped in the Cage unable to get out, Metatron tore out Cas grace and expelled all the angels from Heaven, so he’s up there alone. So angels are either: puddles of grace for demons (or humans) to come and harvest, reduced to infants, or stumbling around trapped in meatsuits. Angels trapped means the human souls inside are in their control, just like demon possession. Alas, Jimmy is not back, it was explained around Cas first smiting by Raphael that Jimmy ‘died’ so it’s all Cas there, without his grace. Recall that ‘End’ verse was created by Zachariah to manipulate Dean into saying yes to Michael, it was never a possible universe, just the worst one for Dean. In that universe the apocalypse happened, and we know now that it was averted. No Chuck, new prophet, set restart button.

I love Misha Collins. And no, we’ve never met, but when I was looking at the art I’ve made this year, every picture, barring one, had Misha or Castiel in it. I think his character in Supernatural is brilliant, but getting to know what the man does, how he lives, what he cares about, who he cares about, has inspired me and sometimes (in gishwhes) drove me crazy, but there is someone who’s close to his angelic persona on tv, and that’s Misha, or actually, even better than an angel of the Lord. So, thank you Misha, for everything you do, never let the bastards get you down.
