"bucky barnes was the best brother-in-arms any soldier ever had. he was braver than me because he didn’t have any serum making him stronger and faster, but he never hesitated, never faltered. he always thought he had to live up to my expectations, to the symbols i represented, but i don’t think i could’ve done it without him, and i was never prouder than when i saw him pick up that shield to carry on in my place."

Police in L.A. County are drastically expanding the types of personal data they collect.
Iris scans, palm prints, mugshots, fingerprints and potentially audio recordings will all be stored in a massive new database that will feed into the FBI.
So why has the public been kept in the dark? Read our new investigation.

Wow, no one is really getting much off…

American workers are putting in more and more hours each week, as the supposedly 40-hour workweek has stretched to 47 hours. At the same time, they’re getting very little paid time off of work to recharge.

Cyber harassment study reveals the unsurprising!
It still amazes me that I talk to guys who still think they get harassed just as much as women online. Like even from people who aren’t clearly and totally gross dumbasses. It kinda makes me think that, even in the best cases, it might be hard to really understand the sheer difference in frequency. You see a woman get harassed on a game and you go “Oh well I’ve been harassed” without understanding that there is seldom a session for her where that doesn’t happen or understanding what her inbox might look like…

That is a sort of stunning degree of difference.

"The data’s in! Women were lying about online harassment!”
"Aha! We knew it!"
“Yeah, they’ve been severely underreporting how bad things are for them, turns out.”
"Wait, what?"

Guilty Verdict In Jordan Davis Shooting -

Justice! I’m so glad they didn’t blame that child for his own murder! There are some decent people in Florida.

Michael Dunn was found guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of 17-year-old Jordan Davis in September, 2012 after an argument over loud music.

The jury took about 5 hours to reach a verdict on Wednesday.

jury deadlocked in February over whether to convict him of killing Davis.

He was convicted on three counts of attempted murder for shooting at Davis’ friends in the car.

Dunn testified at this month’s trial as well as his last that he killed Davis in self-defense after the teen threatened him. He also said he thought Davis had a gun, but no weapon was ever found.

At a press conference after the verdict was read, Davis’ father, Ron, told reporters,"We must do a better job of loving each other."
